Erik and I once traveled to Busua, Africa in a small, beat-up car. We could barely fit ourselves into the vehicle, and the smell was, for lack of a better word, funky. The road was riddled with potholes. The other drivers were flying around us with little care or remorse — and by drivers, I mean goats, chickens, mopeds, and people. We were sweating, and I’m not sure if it was from the heat or the anxiety.
Fortunately for us, our driver was much more poised than we were. Even amidst all the chaos, he kept his composure and got us to Busua in record time!
After the 17-hour adventure, we had finally arrived on the beautiful beach. We were relieved to be alive, exhausted from the traveling, and speechless from the incredible views — we could finally relax.
What we didn’t realize, yet, was just how much this place would change our lives.
On this episode, we discuss an essential skill for aspiring storytellers and podcast guests. While experiencing something is easy — retelling the story is an entirely different challenge.
Can we bridge that gap? Let’s find out!
