“Progress equals happiness.”
– W. Edwards Deming
With Great.com being a remote organization, part of my role is to identify, test and implement efficient processes and collaborative tools. I’m also involved in podcast outreach initiatives and developing the Great.com website.
I joined Catena Media in its infancy as a Project Manager in 2015. Fast forward three years, and we now had hundreds of employees and were a listed multinational company. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work closely with the CEO and spearhead the creation of the official Catena Media website. I became certified as a Product Owner and ScrumMaster and led the complete rebranding of Catena Media. I then spent time as the Product Owner responsible for the optimization of four affiliate websites in the Norwegian market in addition to working on side projects related to legal, IR, SEO, content marketing, and sales.
I love finding new tools and techniques to help accomplish defined business objectives. I’m constantly looking for ways to improve communication and workflow inefficiencies. My strengths are related to my ability to stay organized and accomplish goals — which will serve as my focus for Great. My role within Great will be to help us continuously move forward toward our short-term and long-term goals.
Great is an exciting project, and I’m blessed to have the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of people. In fact, I don’t even see my role at Great as being work — the values of Great parallel my own values so closely, that it’s a way of life. We will be a positive force of change in the world, creating Greatness in my life and those we directly or indirectly reach.
Love and connection are fundamental needs we have as humans. This need includes communication, approval, attachment, feeling understood, and feeling connected or loved by others. If I had the ability to solve any problem in the world, I’d make sure that every child, teenager, and adult felt loved and understood.
I love pushing myself outside my comfort zone. I’m always looking for new opportunities to give back and spread happiness and positivity to those around me. Like Tony Robbins said “Progress equals happiness,” so I’m constantly learning and challenging myself.
A few years ago, I discovered a love for running and set goals to run the Abbott World Marathon Majors and to qualify for the Boston Marathon within the next five years. I recently ran the New York Marathon for the second time and now have my eyes set on the Chicago Marathon next (two of the six World Marathon Majors).
I love running because of the discipline, because progress is measurable, and because of the awesome community of runners I meet when traveling globally. I also love that it’s a community rooted in doing good, as it’s linked to the charity sector. Many of us fundraise and run for our favorite charities and choose causes close to our hearts when signing up for marathons.
