Family House provides clean, safe accommodation for up to eighty five families with children being treated at UCSF Medical Center - one of the top pediatric cancer units in the world. These families don’t just come from the Bay Area; many come from other states or even abroad, desperate for the best care for their child. Three quarters of the families helped by Family House live on or below the breadline. 

Alexandra explains that going through a serious illness can be an extremely isolating experience for any family. That’s why Family House offers a broad range of services focused on comfort and wellbeing, such as tutors, social workers and volunteers who organize birthday parties.
