No One Deserves to Go Hungry
Like many of the world’s urban spaces, Sarasota in Florida is inhabited both by the rich and the poor. The city’s All Faiths Food Bank is a member of Feeding America - a network of 200 food banks operating across the USA. Working with retail partners, the Sarasota food bank collects and distributes food donations so that struggling communities can enjoy nutritious meals.
Sandra explains that a staggering 48% of the people they currently serve are new faces; the coronavirus has disproportionately hit service industry workers who now don’t have the salary to feed their family. But many more are unaware that such help even exists. This is why outreach work is so vital.
