Successful Societies: A Virtuous Circle
Most of the world’s waters belong to no single territory. The Seasteading Institute plans to build new societies on their surface, each one free to make its own laws. The mobility of seasteads would allow communities to grow naturally; seasteaders would vote with their house, joining the most promising societies and leaving those that least suited them. Building on our oceans has an added environmental benefit. Joe explains that seasteads restore aquatic ecosystems, providing a great site for coral and other marine life.
