Waterkeeper Alliance unites more than 350 clean water advocacy organizations around the world, helping them campaign on local issues relating to water pollution and poor sanitation.
Marc explains that many of the water problems we are facing are a direct result of dangerous climate change. Our waterways are threatened by industrial waste, plastic pollution and ageing sewage systems. Sadly, it’s not just the quality of our water that is jeopardized by human activity; there’s a question of quantity, too. Climate change directly causes droughts and water shortages, which can have devastating effects on those whose livelihoods rely on healthy water networks, especially in the developing world.
But there is a solution. Waterkeeper Alliance empowers numerous campaigners who are rallying support to tackle local water problems, putting pressure on governments to comply with environmental laws.
