What Is Public Policy?
Public policy is the legislation that governs real-world issues. These can be anything from censorship to healthcare to taxation. The Mackinac Center for Public Policy is a free market think tank based in Michigan, which aims to equip lawmakers with relevant and effective policy solutions to various crises. One such crisis is COVID19, which demands urgent answers to policy questions about health, education and business. The Mackinac Center offers solutions that look beyond a centralized response and empower the individual instead. Michael explains that government programs aren’t always the answer; public bodies can be overly bureaucratic and ineffective where the business community can often offer better solutions.
