The Missouri River, despite facing some issues, is generally clean. But we must maintain the river to avoid ecological disasters. We can do that by connecting people who live along the river and engaging them in river cleanups, education, and other special events. In today's episode, we talked to Kevin Tosie, Operation Manager at Missouri River Relief.
Missouri River Relief is a non-profit organization that hopes to engage individuals in river cleanup activities, education events, and other special events. The purpose of these events and activities is to connect individuals with the river and give something back to this magnificent resource.
A River For Everyone
Missouri River Relief invites community members and volunteers to join their river cleanup activities and events. Every year, they organize these activities to bring people together and educate students on the beauty of the Missouri River.
In addition, the organization holds art auctions, river excursions, film festivals, and other special events to bring communities together on the one thing that connects them - the Missouri River. These activities are held along the bank of the river. So far, the organization has managed to remove more than 1,000 tons of trash from the Missouri River through the support of more than 31,000 volunteers.
