Islamopobia is on the rise, with an accumulated $1.4 billion raised in the last three years in support of Islamophobic groups perpetuating harmful ideologies. In this episode we talked with Raniah El-Gendi from CAIR Florida about their mission to protect and uphold civil rights through education, systematic change and legal reform. 

The Aim: A Safe and Secure Florida for All

With campaigns such as the Muslim travel ban still fresh on people’s minds, the recent repealment of this law marks only the beginning of the significant work required to improve the lives of Muslim minority groups living in the US. Hate speech, bullying and bias crimes are at an unprecedented level since 9/11 and much of this is aimed at the Islamic community. Raniah explains how crucial it is to highlight the discrimination that Muslims face, as well as advocating for growth and structural reform; not only within the legal system but also in the foundations of our government policies and education system.

The organization operates within the typically uncharitable online casino industry, where it tries to create something good out of something sometimes harmful. Great.com generates profits by competing with traditional casino companies in Google search rankings for online gaming signups coming from search terms such as online slot games and best online casino NJ. All profits are then donated towards causes fighting against climate change. So far They have generated donations of over $1.3 million.
