Tropicana Online Casino Moves to Caesars Casino Online
Tropicana NJ online casino has moved to Caesars NJ online casino for the interim — here’s what that means for New Jersey gamblers.
- Tropicana NJ Online Casino is Now Operating Under the Caesars Corporate Umbrella
- Update on a Similar Move with Virgin Casino
- How These Moves Impact Overall New Jersey Online Casino Revenue
Tropicana Online Casino has ceased operating under that title for the time being, following an announcement in June that it was no longer working with Gamesys Limited. Without a platform provider, Tropicana cannot offer online casino games.
Instead, Tropicana is teaming up with Light & Wonder as its new platform provider, with services to be launched sometime in the future. In the meantime, players of Tropicana Online Casino can find their account details at Caesars Casino Online, which is also currently offering a 200% deposit-match bonus up to $200 for new users, plus $10 for signing up.
Tropicana’s new platform provider, Light & Wonder Inc., is a U.S.-based gambling company that has been at the forefront of online gambling for decades. Light & Wonder Inc. was formerly known as Scientific Games Corporation, a major player in early slot machine proliferation across the United States.
Light & Wonder owns several prominent publishers like WMS, Shuffle Master, and SG Digital. Over the years, they’ve produced thousands of slot machines, table games, and casino management systems.
Besides online casinos, many of Light and Wonder’s titles are favorites at hundreds of brick-and-mortar casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and various land-based establishments across the world.
The Light & Wonder platform offers modern gaming solutions. They equip partner casinos with 500+ casino games, and various system integrations for payments, and customer support. This should eventually ease the life of both casino staff and Tropicana players.
Related Online Casino Moves
Tropicana isn’t the only New Jersey online casino making a big change.
The Virgin NJ online casino, also powered by Gamesys, is not switching platforms. Instead, the operator now has a land-based partnership with Bally’s Atlantic City (transferring from Tropicana Atlantic City). Virgin Casino is currently offering up to $100 real cash back bonuses to new players on its website through its first deposit bonus.
This change is happening because Gamesys is now owned by Bally’s Corp. (parent company of Bally’s AC). Since Tropicana is owned by competitor Caesars Entertainment, new deals needed to be made.
Tropicana online casino has strong brand recognition, having been active since 2013. In November, the Tropicana Atlantic City celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Impact on New Jersey Casino Revenue
When it comes to NJ online casino revenue, Tropicana is in the middle of the pack, bringing in $18.7 million through the first two months of 2022. That is a pretty significant number considering only two operators fall under the license.
By comparison, Caesars Interactive, which currently consists of six different apps, has reported $20.1 million through February.
But this financial picture is about to change.
The Caesars Casino app, which is being rebranded to Tropicana, falls under the Caesars Interactive license. So it makes sense for Tropicana AC to join Caesars AC and Harrah’s AC under the same corporate umbrella.
Each land-based casino is permitted to have up to five online casino partners. So the new Tropicana brand would be added to this growing list:
- 888 Casino
- 888 Poker
- Harrah’s Online Casino
- WSOP.com
- WynnBet
And several other operators have market access deals with Caesars Entertainment. These brands could come into the fold sometime this year:
- PlayUp Casino
- PlayOJO Casino
- MaximBet Casino
Details and specific launch dates are still to be determined.
