This one exacerbates the problem that Southwest Florida has with abandoned pets and animals in need of shelters. These animals rely on the goodwill of animal welfare organizations that take them in. That's why in today's episode, we talked with Garry Willoughby, Executive Director at Gulf Coast Humane Society.
Gulf Coast Humane Society is an animal welfare organization and a no-kill facility that shelters animals. They provide medical care to surrendered animals and animals in need of love and compassion. The organization also has an adoption process, where they find homes for thousands of abandoned pets each year.
A Home For Every Animal
The organization specializes in humane care, and they rely solely on donations from the community. Through fundraising events, Gulf Coast Humane Society assists neglected and abandoned pets find new homes. They welcome people to come to their shelters and adopt an animal in need of a home. The organization also takes the responsibility of providing medical care and assistance to these animals before they're put for adoption.
