70% of youth development organizations lack the resources to cater to the needs of the youth they serve. The shared goal of all of these organizations is to help NYC youth achieve their goals and dreams. But nonprofit organizations rely on funding and raising awareness. In today's episode, we talked with Rehana Farell, Executive Director over at Youth INC.
Youth INC is a nonprofit organization that works with nonprofit partners to help achieve their goals. They operate in the corporate and nonprofit sectors where only 50% of youth development nonprofits feel they can meet the needs of NYC youth.
Transforming Lives By Empowering Nonprofit Organizations
Rehana says that fundraising practices and raising awareness are necessary for any nonprofit organization to achieve sustainable growth. Since many organizations lack the crucial infrastructure to impact the youth they serve, Youth INC hopes to change that by working directly with these organizations.
Through partner network relations, in-person workshops, and technical assistance, among others, Youth INC helps these organizations achieve sustainable growth. What this results in is creating opportunities for 200,000 young people each year. They work with 80 nonprofit partners to build social and emotional learning. Their work has resulted in $100+ million raised in support of their partners and achieved sustainable growth of over 157%.
They have a legacy leadership program that targets key elements of organizational sustainability and thriving. They strengthen relationships with each partner and give access to coaching, capital, and connections.
This ultimately helps the New York City youth since Youth INC helps with increasing partner board sizes, developing leaders, and creating advisory committees to grow their organizations.
