Pragmatic Play had 556 titles with recorded play in August, across 155 countries. In 118 of the 176 countries with any play at all, it was the most played studio of the month.

No other studio came first in more than a handful of markets. That reach, rather than any single hit, is what puts it at the top.

The back half is the interesting part

The top four are names anyone in the industry would expect. Below them the list changes character, with studios running a fraction of the catalogue size holding their own against the largest names in the business.

On our site, catalogue size is not what decides it. A studio with a handful of well chosen titles can finish ahead of one with hundreds.

How we count this

Great.com lists free-to-play demo versions of slots. Players arrive through organic search, open a game and play. Nothing on the site is promoted above anything else, so a studio climbs this list because people chose its games.
