Jan de Mol from HowtoCasino

Today, we are interviewing Jan de Mol from HowtoCasino. He discusses his journey in the casino affiliate industry and he turned his interest in poker to sustainable business. Moreover, Jan shares his vision for himself and his business for next 5 years and what he wants to accomplish.

How would you describe HowtoCasino to someone who does not know what you are doing?

– HowtoCasino is a website that tries to answer gambling questions, especially for novice players. For this we use manuals and instructional videos. We are adding content on a daily base and are focussing on all aspects of the gambling spectrum

What made you want to start Howtocasino.com?

– I think there is a worldwide demand for clear gambling and betting instructions for the many new online gamblers. With the introduction of the “how to” structured data, I saw an opportunity. This resulted in the HowToCasino website.

How did you end up in the casino industry?

– I started as a poker player and became an affiliate. Later on, I started to focus more on online gambling in general.

What personality traits make you a skilled founder? What have been your biggest challenges?

– A healthy view of the future of our industry is necessary to make a project like Howtocasino.com a success. We have to commit ourselves to work on this project for a long time (read: invest a lot of money and time) before it becomes clear if it is viable. The first signs are very good, visitor number is increasing by the month.

How have you changed as a person from running a business?

– No, as a person i have not changed nor would i know why that should happen. I have been self-employed the most of my life, so there were no changes involved. The running of the website has become a part of my daily routine. As a person i do

What are you most proud of?

– The website is live and all technical problems have been solved. Now the team is going to focus on content! Most proud I am of the facts that this started as a simple idea and has grown into a full-fledged website with a plan.

Where do you want to be in 5 years?

– I hope that in 5 years’ time the website will have answered all basic questions about online gambling and that we will have a lot of visitors. As for myself, I hope I still enjoy running the website as much as I do now.
