Elk Studios is our provider of the month for September
Most played is one list. This is the other one. ELK Studios finished September first on the time players spent per visit to Great.com, across a catalogue of more than a hundred titles.

ELK Studios held players the longest
ELK Studios finished September first on the one measure that has nothing to do with how many people showed up. Of every studio on Great.com, its demo sessions ran the longest. Players who opened an ELK game stayed in it.
The studio reached players in 75 countries during the month, with 109 of its titles drawing play.

Why time rather than clicks
On a site with no deposits and nothing to win, minutes are the only honest vote a player has. Someone who stays several minutes in a demo has played through the mechanic, watched the feature trigger or fail to, and decided to keep going anyway. That is a verdict on the game itself, not on its trailer, its bonus offer or the position it sat in.
For a studio it says the maths and the pacing landed. For an operator it is the closest free signal there is to how a title will hold a real player once it is live.
A catalogue, not a hit
Holding attention with one famous game is one thing. ELK did it across 109 titles in play, and 56 of those have drawn play in every single month of this year. That is the harder version, and it is the part worth noticing.
The Pirots series is the engine. Six Pirots games were in play during September, and Pirots 5 was the studio’s most played title of the month, with Pirots 4 and Pirots 3 also inside its top five. Grizzly Stampede was the only non-Pirots title in the studio’s top three.
Where the longest sessions actually came from
Not from the biggest titles. Book Of Toro and Pirots 2 held players longer than anything else ELK has on the site, both of them ahead of Pirots 5 on time per visit. A studio’s most played game and its most absorbing game are rarely the same game, and ELK is a clean example of the gap.
It is not only this list
ELK also placed seventh on our most played providers ranking for September, so this is not a case of a small studio winning a narrow measure. It is a studio that is found often and then kept.
The ten longest played providers in September
Ranked by average time spent per demo session during the month.
- ELK Studios
- Inspired Gaming
- Pragmatic Play
- Reel Kingdom
- Play’n GO
- Hacksaw Gaming
- PG Soft
- Novomatic
- Games Global
- Nolimit City

The shape of the rest of the list is worth a look too. Novomatic is here on nine titles, Inspired Gaming on twenty six and Pragmatic Play on more than five hundred. Three completely different ways to build a catalogue, all landing in the same ten.
Notice who is not here
Several of the studios that top our most played list every month do not appear at all. Plenty of players open their games. Fewer stay. That gap between being opened and being played is the whole reason this list exists alongside the other one.
How we count this
Great.com is a free to play demo slot platform. A session counts only when a player stays in the demo for more than one minute. Every studio in this ranking cleared a minimum number of sessions for the month first, so no one arrives on the strength of a handful of long visits.
Longest played provider
ELK Studios
First on average session length, and across more than a hundred titles in play. Holding attention with one hit game is one thing. Holding it across a catalogue that size is another. See the catalogue on the ELK Studios provider page.
