Everyone has a story to tell. But when an illness strikes, we must cut to the end to see a happy ending. People with terminal illnesses don't often get to see their dreams fulfilled. That's why in today's episode, we talked with Kisa Heyer, CEO of Dream Foundation.
Dream Foundation is a nonprofit organization that serves terminally ill adults and their families. They have four programs that offer inspiration, comfort, and closure to community members. Through their programs, the Dream Foundation provides end-of-life dreams.
An end-of-life dream can be anything. It can be a grandmother seeing her grandchildren, a father taking his children to a special place, and anything of the kind. These programs aim to give terminally ill adults one last chance to see their dream fulfilled.
End-Of-Life Dreams
Kisa says that volunteers are an important part of making this service possible. Dream Foundation volunteers come to cancer centers, elder care centers, and individuals to brighten their day. Volunteers also provide care to terminally ill adults. Through their end-of-life program, they help fulfill one last wish. An end-of-life dream could be to connect a parent with their kids or a veteran visiting a special place.
