Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen Has Served Over 1.5 Million Nutritious Meals

More than four hundred thousand underprivileged kids live in the Bay Area of California. Families from some of the region’s poorest neighborhoods find themselves isolated, disenfranchised and in a world far from the glitz and glamor California is known for. In this episode, Great.com talks with Gisela Bushey from Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen about the importance of providing families and individuals with nutritious hot food as a basic right.
Loaves And Fishes Has Served The Bay Area Since 1980
As of June 30th 2021, Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen has served an incredible 1,521,506 meals. Gisela explains that part of this success is down to their recent development of partnerships with other non-profit organizations. Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen has now increased its reach to community locations throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara, allowing the homeless and hungry far greater access to meals.
Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen also redirects prepared food that has not yet been put out onto the service line by larger for-profit organizations. Instead of this food going into composting or landfill, it is served to those who need it most. By redirecting food, Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen has been able to serve an additional 600 thousand meals in the last two years.

Great.com was founded in 2017 with the goal of generating donations to stop climate change. The organization operates within the typically uncharitable online casino industry, where it tries to create something good out of something sometimes harmful. Great.com generates profits by competing with traditional casino companies in Google search rankings for online gaming signups coming from search terms such as Unibet nj and online casino NJ. All profits are then donated towards causes fighting against climate change. So far we have generated donations of over $2.3 million.
