Veterans struggle between being fathers with compassionate souls and killers on the battlefield. The trauma suffered from their service has left them suffering the same faith as these majestic animals. That's why in today's episode, we talked with Lorin Lindner, President, CEO and Co-Founder of Lockwood Animal Rescue Center.
Lockwood Animal Rescue Center (LARC) is a nonprofit organization that cares for wolves, wolfdogs, horses, other animals, and US veterans. They have a welfare and rehabilitation center for veterans suffering from trauma and animals. They pair each enrolled veteran with another whose further along in the healing process, and both care for a similar animal. The animals in their animal rescue center are wolves, wolfdogs, horses, and many others.
Compassion In Action
The Lockwood Animal Rescue Center makes it a priority to protect animals while also offering therapeutic work for returning combat veterans. They offer a forever home to these animals while also providing a controlled environment where they are kept safe. They spay, neuter, and microchip all animals in the rescue center, as these animals are still considered dangerous by their very nature.
Their rescue center is closed to the public and only open to enrolled veterans. They advocate against breeding and selling the animals and are dedicated to preventing the illegal slaughter of wolves in the wild.
