In this episode we talked with Steve Sosebee from the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund about the humanitarian work that saves children caught in the crossfire of the Middle East’s political crises.
A Nonpartisan Helping Hand
The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund is neither political nor religious; its sole focus is the children who have become victims of conflict. PCRF provides those in need with necessary medical care, while also investing in the Palestinian public health sector so that more life-saving treatment can be provided locally.
Steve explains that it’s important to take initial positive steps, no matter how daunting a problem like this might seem. By appealing to basic human values like freedom, equality and tolerance, huge progress is always possible. Since 1992, PCRF has sent over 2000 children for free medical care, while treating tens of thousands locally with an army of volunteer doctors. The organization has also opened pediatric cancer departments both in Gaza and the West Bank so that children do not have to leave their communities for treatment.
