The US is without a doubt, the most prevalent superpower in the world’s recent history. What supports it is its economy - a balancing act that needs reforms and adjustments every so often. Millions of immigrants move to the US every year, and not all of them can find meaningful employment to contribute to the economy, which has negatively affected the quality of life of millions of Americans. In this episode, we talked with Chris Chmielenski from NumbersUSA about supporting balance immigration it for more economic stability in the country. 

Numbers USA: Taking The Economy Into Consideration

26% of the US population are immigrants, numbering roughly 45.7 million. As of 2020, 9.2 percent of those millions are unemployed. With the number of people in the US and finite resources and habitable space, this negatively impacts how the economy is growing. Certain factors such as the nation's housing affordability crisis & lack of job availability happens. Chmielenski argues that more opportunities should be given to skilled workers seeking employment in the US to be accepted as immigrants and to support these working immigrants in their search to find a better life in the United States through balanced reforms and holding lawmakers accountable through activism.

Great.com is an innovative charity project working to move money from the online casino industry towards initiatives focused on preventing climate change. So far, Great.com has generated donations of over $1.3 million. This is done by competing with casinos in Google search rankings for online gaming signups coming from search terms such as “Tropicana Online” and “online casino bonus”. The profits this generates are then donated to causes working to stop global warming, rather than being reinvested into the casino industry.
