That's why in today's episode, we talked with Catherine Quinn, Field Program Director at Concern America.
Concern America is a global nonprofit organization and nonsectarian, nongovernmental development and refugee aid organization aiming to accomplish the transformation of need into self-sufficiency. They do this by providing healthcare, clean water, education, and income opportunities to communities worldwide.
The organization focuses on training local community members to become health promoter practitioners, midwives, water system builders, and teachers for their communities. Moreover, their philosophy emphasizes the sharing and transferring of skills and thus, the creation of opportunities.
Concern America's approach is centered around self-help and sustainability, empowering communities to address their own needs and find solutions to their problems. The organization works closely with communities in Guatemala, Colombia, Mexico, and other regions, offering training programs based on popular education and supporting local practitioners to provide healthcare services.
