An orphanage with forty kids and only five people lack the financial support to take care of their needs. Not only that, but it also lacks emotional support. In today’s episode, we talked with Rex Head, Founder of Orphanage Support Services Organization.
Orphanage Support Services Organization is a nonprofit organization that is on a mission to provide sustaining support to orphanages. They were founded in 1999 and are making a change in countries such as Ecuador, China, Peru, Vietnam, Thailand, and Mexico. They financially support seven orphanages in Ecuador, and many more in other countries, and provide sustaining support to children living in orphanages through volunteers.
Giving A Child the Love It Deserves
Rex says that every child is a child of God and deserves the touch of a loving family. Unfortunately, not every child will get adopted. That's why Orphanage Support Services Organization wants to give a loving child the love it deserves. But not just that, they also provide food, shelter, education, and monetary support to orphanages to try and replace the care of a loving family.
Through volunteer support, Orphanage Support Services Organization hopes to replace the love of a family. Throughout the years, they're provided orphaned kids with 1.5 million hours of face-to-face service.
